Book an attorney for my investor visaThis is general information, not legal advice. The Ministry of Justice assesses each plan and can inspect the investment: an immigration attorney can confirm your case.
Based on Resolutions CNIg nº 13/2017 (as amended in 2024) and nº 36/2018 (as amended in 2021), as the Ministry of Justice publishes them. Checked October 23, 2026.
The two routes in brief
- Business: at least R$500,000 in foreign currency into a Brazilian company, new or existing, with an investment or business plan. The application is judged mainly on the jobs or income it can create.
- Innovation: at least R$150,000 when the company works in innovation or research and meets one of the conditions, or shows its product is original, far-reaching and relevant.
- Property: urban property worth at least R$1,000,000, or R$700,000 in the North and Northeast, built or under construction. Only the part above the minimum can be financed.
- Only your own money from abroad counts: a foreign exchange record from a bank authorised by the Central Bank is the proof.
- Both routes can be requested from abroad, before the visa, or from inside Brazil.
- Executives who will run a company in Brazil have a separate route, with different amounts.
